The Universe of Injustice and Superman’s Super Son, Explained
THE Injustice Universe launched in 2013, spanning two video games and several comic book series, the first of which was titled Injustice: Gods Among Us after the original video game. In this DC Universe, Superman has taken over the Earth as a ruthless dictator after the deaths of his wife, Lois Lane, and their unborn son. The Man of Steel was tricked into killing Lois by the Joker, making the Clown Prince of Crime Superman’s first victim once the hero decided murder was an acceptable method of saving lives and securing peace. Taylor is one of the principal architects of Injusticewriting the original gods among us comic book series and other titles that followed, such as the Injustice 2 comics related to the sequel video game released in 2017.
As for Jon Kent, created by writer-artist Dan Jurgens in 2015 Convergence: Superman #2, he is the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane from the main DC Universe. Taylor wrote Jon’s evolution from Superboy to Superman in the now-completed Superman: Son of Kal-El series, which saw Jon come out as bisexual and featured his boyfriend, Jay Nakamura. Superman’s Adventures Could Happen Before The First Injustice
With The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #4, other solicitations indicate that Jon will arrive in the Injustice Universe at a time before the first video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Details for the series’ third issue explain that “a Kal-El rules this world in apparent peace” while Batman is “public enemy number one”. This describes how the Injustice The universe stood before gods among usin which Batman and Lex Luthor lured a Justice League from another Earth to depose Superman.
With Taylor and Henry, The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #4 will sport variant cover art contributed by Henry, Zu Orzu, Al Barrionuevo, Tyler Kirkham, and Stephen Byrne. The issue is set to go on sale June 6 from DC Comics.
